DOWN TO EARTH. AND WATER.
POSITION: LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
JOB REF: 2540
PACKAGE: up to £35,000 dependent on experience
24 days annual leave (+ stats), contributory pension scheme
HOURS: 37.5 hours per week
DURATION: Permanent (6 months probation period)
DESCRIPTION: We’re filthy and we’re proud of it.
Our purpose-designed lab tests muck and water. We do it really well – to nationally accredited standards. There are other labs who offer testing, but we’re fast, accurate and reliable and we guarantee our turnaround times. We’ve got lots of work. And that’s where you come in.
Your remit is to support the Quality Manager in the day to day running of the Quality team. You will be Robin to his Batman, even stepping into his rubber-clad boots in his absence.
You will help guide the Quality team and champion continuous improvement across the lab with a laser focus on ensuring compliance with our Quality Manual UKAS and MCERTS Accreditation Standards.
Swift resolution of quality issues relating to non-conformances is critical and you will play a leading role in achieving this because you communicate well and have exceptional organisational skills.
Auditing will be second nature to you and experience in undertaking internal audits (Quality System, Vertical and Method) is highly desirable.
Having spent a minimum of 2 years in a Quality role, you will have honed your critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. You will be able to identify areas for improvement in processes and pose actions with attention to detail that is second to none.
Deadlines are your driving force but you always have a keen eye on meeting standards. This has been developed through experience of working in a third-party accredited environment that has a commercial focus.
Any previous knowledge or experience of analytical lab testing and/or working in a fast-paced contract lab sends you straight to the top of our shortlist.
